We cannot really open windows wide at this time of year but I'm worried about the children (2,4 %26amp;10) I remember when I was little being in the house when mum %26amp; dad decorated %26amp; it never did me any harm that I know of! But I just feel headachey %26amp; yucky! Is it safe for the kids?Been decorating today, the smell of gloss is making me nauseous my husband says the kids will be fine.?
get 2 onions cut them both in half and put them in the room the smell of the onions will kill the smell of the paint and the smell of the paint will kill the smell of the onions my husband is a painter and decorator so try it it really does workBeen decorating today, the smell of gloss is making me nauseous my husband says the kids will be fine.?
A sliced onion placed around the room will get rid of the smell.
place a bowl of cold water in the rooms where you can smell the paint.Over night the water with catch the molecules that produce the smells. It doesn't get rid of the smell completely, but you will see the residue ,looks like a film of oil on the surface of the water by the morning. The smell is harmless, other wise painters and decorators would have to have extractors etc. whilst working .
I'm sure B%26amp;Q sell paint with little or no smell
At least slightly open a couple of windows, let some air in.
handy tip for the future.
gloss in the morning ( well ventilated), that way it should be dry for the evening
